A few weeks ago, I received one of those no-brainer invitations. The gist was: “hey, want to get together with a bunch of awesome bloggers and eat eclairs for a few hours?”
Obvious answer, right?
Carin from Paris in Four Months invited me, Milsters from Little Pieces of Light, Grace from Will She Love Paris? Edna from Expat Edna, Melanie from Feed Your Awesome Machine and Sugared & Spiced to taste a sampling of eclairs L’Eclair de Genie and L’Atelier de l’Eclair for an article on the HiP Paris blog. Go check it out for details and Carin’s amazing photography!
A law of blogger meetups: the more bloggers, the longer you have to wait to eat because everyone brought a camera. It’s fascinating to see everyone’s shooting style.
Seven energetic ladies, lots of sugar, and champagne combined for one hell of an afternoon. Let’s just say there was lots of giggling and belly laughs.
Thanks to HiP Paris and Carin for the invite, and thanks to all of the girls for a much-needed girls’ day!
Good times, man. Good times.
I propose another pastry-related smackdown immediately.
I can get on board with an eclair trend – especially because those look really good & I’m liking the bright/shiny frosting on some of the eclair du genie ones.
They’re gorgeous, but I actually didn’t enjoy the frosting much — way too thick for me. When I bit into the eclairs, the frosting would sometimes stick to my teeth and come off as one whole piece!
What an amazingly fun idea! Glad you all enjoyed. I’ve never been an éclair person, but now I’m going to have to give them another try!
Such cute photos! I especially love the action shots of other bloggers taking photos.
That’s ’cause bloggers are so darn cute.
Oh marvelous! I would have been so very ready to participate, even though to me an eclair comes in chocolate (for me) or coffee (for my mother) and that is it;). But I am certain your selection was much better than what the States has to offer, esp. when paired with champagne;). I do miss these and cannot wait to give some of these a try on my trip to visit family in June.
It’s tough work, but someone’s got to do it.
My daughter is a foodie, and working as a marketing manager for a celebrity chef in NYC. She photos and posts on Instagram almost every special meal.
One thing I’m curious about: I’ve never seen eclairs in rainbow colors. Orange?
Oh Diane. I am in love with you. Sorry for cancelling this week but I’m just secretly playing hard to get. LOL How about Frenchie’s next week? But hopefully I’ll see you before on Saturday night for a proper girls’ night!!!
Dude, likewise. You know I’m always down for Frenchie, and I can’t wait for girls’ night!
Gorrrrgeous photographs and what a great time we had. Totally agree we should have another pastry smackdown! xxx
